Fourth Millennium

The Blacksmiths Art Continued

Monday, December 6, at 7:30PM at the Maritime Museum of Atlantic.

Dust off your portable forge, load up your anvil and make your way to Kentville NS, Saturday, April 16 for the season's first MBA event. Dress for forging, bring a bag lunch or grab something to eat from one of the nearby establishments and don't forget your camera.

Exhibition Open House and Forge-in, Kentville.

"Fourth Millennium - The Blacksmiths Art Continued" will open with an MBA forge-in at Centre Square, Kentville, at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 16th. There will be some limited demonstrator parking within the square (see map), and free street parking all around. Anyone who is thinking of bringing a forge and demonstrating before the public is asked to have their gear unloaded by 9:30 if possible, with all fires going by 10:00. We will begin to close down at 1:00, or so, and after packing up, and cleaning up, will all meet at the museum (37 Cornwallis Street) at 2:00 for the open house.

I hope that the weather will be fine, but we will be under cover if it isn't. We may well be able to allow the public to try their hand at forging. I have rounded up some child size protective gear, courtesy of a Lee Valley donation, to enable us to work safely with young children should the opportunity arise.

The fine ironwork on exhibit, and the thrill of seeing the blacksmiths craft at work, should draw public attention and interest. If you have any questions concerning the day's events contact me:
